Live Action News Story on Rescue, FACE, and National Event

From Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, National Director of OSA (Operation Save America):

BREAKING: 11 pro-life activists charged under the federal F.A.C.E. Act

By Carole Novielli | July 19, 2017

(Live Action) Eleven pro-life activists have been charged with violating the federal F.A.C.E. act following a peaceful rescue event outside a Kentucky abortion facility in May. The event, held outside the EMW women's abortion facility in Louisville, was organized by Operation Save America (OSA). Rev. Rusty Thomas, national director of Operation Save America (OSA), said he decided to check his e-mail late Tuesday evening he discovered that he along with ten other pro-life activists had been formally charged under the federal F.A.C.E. act.

F.A.C.E. is the " Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act," a draconian piece of legislation signed into law by former President Bill Clinton in 1994. The text of the law is available here, and, in part, "prohibits the use or threat of force and phy…

Oregon to make abortion coverage free for all

Posted at Baptist Press:

SALEM, Ore. (BP) -- Oregon health insurers and taxpayers will soon be paying for abortion, contraceptives and sterilization under a new law Gov. Kate Brown has vowed to sign.

The newly-passed Reproductive Health Equity Act forbids health insurance plans from imposing "a deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing requirement" for abortion, STD screening, prenatal care, post-natal care and all forms of contraception.

Churches and religious nonprofits will be exempt from the law if they notify employees they don't cover contraceptives or abortion. Their employees may turn to Oregon's general fund, padded with more than $10 million, to cover abortion and contraceptives.

The bill also allocates $500,000 to cover abortions and contraceptives for illegal immigrants.

Classic Video: 'Spirit of the Age' by Michael Card

This video recalls the sacrifice of the Holy Innocents in Bethlehem; just as throughout history innocent babies - those with no voice to protest - have suffered at the hands of those who value their own freedoms above all else: that same evil is present in our world today!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Seven protesters accused of criminal trespassing outside of Kentucky's only abortion clinic appeared before a judge on Tuesday.

Police say the group locked arms --- blocking the entrance to the EMW Women's Clinic in May. After being asked several times to leave, they were taken to jail for criminal trespassing.

An attorney says the group has now agreed to stay across the street.

Abortion, Father's Day & Single Moms

By Michael Spielman - Posted at

Chances are, you've never thought about the fact that the federal legalization of abortion and the federal recognition of Father's Day occurred within nine months of each other—on the ill-fated watch of President Richard Nixon. I certainly hadn't marked the connection, until setting out to examine the relationship between abortion and single motherhood. I now see a sad irony in the proximity these two events share on our historic timeline.

In 1970, two years before Father's Day was finally given formal recognition, less than 12% of American families with minor children were helmed by single mothers. Today, that number has risen to 26%. And since more than 40% of American babies are currently born to unwed mothers, the percentage of single-mother households is likely to keep going up. But why is that? Have you ever stopped to think about abortion's relationship to single motherhood? Economists Steven Levitt and Stephen Du…

Local pastor tells Metro Council he will not obey a safety zone outside abortion clinic

By Sara Sidery - Posted at

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - It's the only abortion clinic left in the state, and protests there are getting more aggressive. On Wednesday, Metro Council heard discussions about a "safety zone" outside the EMW Clinic in downtown Louisville.

Supporters are fighting for a 20-foot buffer zone, something the ACLU recommends that would be 8-feet wide and stretch from the clinic's front door to the street.

Anti-abortion emotions boiled over at Metro Hall at the end of a Council Public Safety Committee meeting.

"Respect the unborn children," shouted local pastor Joseph Spurgeon. "Respect our free speech. We will not obey buffer zone laws!"
